Description

When we were asked to help sponsor design education for kids through Inch By Inch we quickly realized that the button packs would be coasted full-color prints. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it did inspire us to think a bit harder about putting our stamp on it (pun intended)... What we came up with was making the ask from Busy Beaver if they would try to make buttons from uncoated letterpress prints. A test round or so later we were there. And now every subscription to this great button club comes with a sponsor button pack comprised of one-of-a-kind letterpress printed buttons. Sign up today with the buy button below.

From the Designer

"Inch x Inch is a one-inch button club that benefits youth art education programs for the underprivileged and underserved. Every month they partner with top notch creatives who donate their artwork to be featured on a series of three buttons. When it came to delivering these monthly packs, they needed packaging that was as unique as the buttons themselves.

Using a vintage industrial design aesthetic with heavy school house vibes, Inch x Inch created a system that accounted for the varying contributor's and their designs. Utilizing their relationship with French Paper, they settled on using Pop-Tone Lemon Drop across all their materials. Letterpressing was a natural fit, taking cues from vintage rulers, pencils and ephemera. The packaging wrap is a 1/0 letterpress on 100lb cover stock, featuring a blank area where each package can be hand stamped to identify the month.

As a promotional tool, Inch x Inch wanted to say thank you to all of their supporters by creating a special button set that would be released to all new members. Working hand in hand with them and their button manufacturer, Busy Beaver Buttons, we were able to create some of the first ever letterpressed buttons." -Bob Ewing
