Duplexing papers is the process of glueing two sheets together. This process can add thickness to the finished piece, but also affords the ability the create 2-toned edges, as each side of the paper can be a different colored sheet, like this one. We used the white paper side as a knockout for the type, as it was a full wash of metallic gold on that side to really make it sparkle.

Description
From the Designer
"Susan got her doctorate and wanted new business cards that reflected not only her degree attainment but also her warmth, quirkiness, and sense of curiosity that goes with her work as a writer and researcher. An owl perched on books was a perfect symbol for this. We also wanted a slight nod to adventure and exploration by alluding to passports, with the colors of gold on dark blue. There are limitations to expressing the physicality of a design when you're looking at it on a screen. Mama's Sauce was a great partner in helping pick out what mix of foil, metallic inks, paper, and printing methods would translate the artwork most spectacularly to a tangible business card. It's wonderful when it feels like your printer is also an artist." -Jordan Dale Young, Designer
